Children's Art with Heart - Matisse Cut-outs

This activity can provoke a conversation about resilience and joy in the face of limitation and loss of independence.
You will need: A sheet of A3 or A4 white or coloured paper, for your cut-out's background and a range of coloured pairs, recycled wrapping papers, scissors and a glue stick.
Henri Matisse was a very famous French artist.
When he became too unwell to paint he started to make pictures by cutting out beautiful, colourful shapes and arranging them in different ways.
Please view the art learning video by Rooster productions here on YouTube and then use colourful papers to make a beautiful colourful ‘cut-out’ picture in the style of Henri Matisse.
Don't forget to title your artwork.
